CSR: Promoting problem solving and innovation



Mission: Create an innovative way for adults to teach youth inventive thinking; associate Xerox innovation with youth innovation; reach underserved youth with a standard-aligned problem-solving curriculum.

Audience:

Youth 5–19, with a focus on underserved youth and their communities, including parents, teachers, and school superintendents.

Achievements: Launch event; website; inventive thinking toolkit distributed nationally to underserved youth; print activities; development and administration of National Invention Competition; celebration event; prizing worth $1000 awarded to each of four grand prize winners and four nominated teachers; licensing contract for inventions; and legal support for patenting.
