CSR: Environmental engineering program



Mission: Offer an opportunity for students to engage in the engineering design process to develop new and unique products using discarded materials. Provide Intel a vehicle for reaching youth and educators to inspire Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic (STEM) study in a creative, fun and engaging format. Promote WGBH engineering design show, Design Squad.

Audience:

Youth 5–19 and their parents and teachers, in addition to science and engineering organizations.

Achievements: Customized engineering curriculum, including teacher's guide and student activities, for educators of middle school and high school students to teach the engineering design process; contest for kids 5–19; monthly newsletters to educators with viral pass-along to registered youth; outreach to teachers, parents, and youth, along with engineering and science associations with mentoring opportunities in and after school; press releases at launch, finalist announcement, and grand prize announcement; grand prize event of prototype build by winner filmed and aired.
